ABSTRACT
This paper describes a real-life behavior framework in simulation game based on Probabilistic State Machine (PSM) with Gaussian random distribution. According to the dynamic environment information, NPC can generate behavior planning autonomously associated with defined FSM. After planning process, we illuminate Gaussian probabilistic function for real-life action simulation in time and spatial domains. The expected value of distribution is estimated during behavior planning process and variance is determined by NPC personality in order to realize real life behavior simulation. We experiment the framework and Gaussian PSM on a restaurant simulation game. Furthermore we give some suggestions to enhance emotion engine on behavior planning for virtual reality.

A non-Gaussian multivariate distribution with all lower-dimensional Gaussians and related families
Several fascinating examples of non-Gaussian bivariate distributions which have marginal distribution functions to be Gaussian have been proposed in the literature. These examples often clarify several properties associated with the normal distribution. ...
Enemy NPC design patterns in shooter games
DPG '12: Proceedings of the First Workshop on Design Patterns in GamesGameplay in single-player shooter games primarily consists of combat with Non-player Characters (NPCs). However, there has been little research done to study how enemy NPCs affect player behavior in shooter games. As a consequence, there is no formal ...
The Rician inverse Gaussian distribution: a new model for non-Rayleigh signal amplitude statistics
In this paper, we introduce a new statistical distribution for modeling non-Rayleigh amplitude statistics, which we have called the Rician inverse Gaussian (RiIG) distribution. It is a mixture of the Rice distribution and the inverse Gaussian ...
