Skip Abstract Section

Abstract

The design and implementation of a micro-program generator MICAS/MICSIM (assembler, linker and simulator) for the VARIAN V70 series of minicomputers is described. More detailed information is found in [1]. First some general concepts are discussed which have influenced the design of software systems. Then the features of microprogramming support software are discussed.
