Mirror Puppeteering: Animating Toy Robots in Front of a Webcam
TEI '15: Proceedings of the Ninth International Conference on Tangible, Embedded, and Embodied InteractionMirror Puppeteering is a system for easily creating gestures ("animations") for robotic toys, custom robots, and virtual characters. Lay users can record animations by simply moving a robot's limbs in front of a webcam. Makers and hobbyists can use the ...
Integrating Animation Artists into the Animation Design of Social Robots: An Open-Source Robot Animation Software
HRI '16: The Eleventh ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human Robot InteractionMovements are an important part of robot design and we need dedicated tools to design them. As previous research has shown, 3D animation techniques are of great use to animate a robot. However, most robots don't benefit from an animation tool and ...
An art-directed wrinkle system for CG character clothing and skin
We present a kinematic system for creating art-directed clothing and skin wrinkles on CG characters used in the production of computer-animated feature films. This system employs a curve-based method for generating wrinkles on reference poses, which are ...
