ABSTRACT
Technology assistance refers to all tools or systems that allow a people with dementia to carry out their daily activities in order to increase convenience and security in these activities. Dementia is a condition of a collection of symptoms of irreversible brain damage that occurs over a relatively long time period, resulting in problems concentrating, planning or organizing daily activities. This paper is focused on estimating daily activity recognition time by considering the feasibility of activity types, feature extraction techniques for speech recognition, and the design effectiveness of a system that is easy to use by people with dementia. The results from activity recognition need to be further analyzed to find the best pattern for people with dementia. After that, monitoring applications can develop into prevention of abnormal activity in dementia.

Daily Routine Recognition through Activity Spotting
LoCA '09: Proceedings of the 4th International Symposium on Location and Context AwarenessThis paper explores the possibility of using low-level activity spotting for daily routine recognition. Using occurrence statistics of low-level activities and simple classifiers based on their statistics allows to train a discriminative classifier for ...
Smartphone-based monitoring system for activities of daily living for elderly people and their relatives etc.
UbiComp '13 Adjunct: Proceedings of the 2013 ACM conference on Pervasive and ubiquitous computing adjunct publicationWe developed a smartphone-based monitoring system to allay the anxiety of elderly people and that of their relatives, friends and caregivers by unobtrusively monitoring an elderly person's activities of daily living. A smartphone of the elderly person ...
Recognition of Activities of Daily Living from Topic Model
Research in ubiquitous and pervasive technologies have made it possible to recognise activities of daily living through non-intrusive sensors. The data captured from these sensors are required to be classified using various machine learning or knowledge ...
