The challenge of computer science in New Zealand

Abstract

Some aspects of computer science education in New Zealand are discussed and the role of the universities is assessed. While there is much common ground with countries overseas there are also particular local conditions to be met. It is suggested that the first priority is the setting up of an honours degree program and a course outline is proposed.
