Abstract
Some of the recent dialogue in computing publications and conferences has dealt with a topical area referred to as "software engineering" or "systems analysis." This paper provides a description of a course in this area and a discussion sufficiently adequate for the implementation of the course in an undergraduate computer science curriculum. The course is recommended for inclusion in the ACM curriculum guide under the special topic, "Software Engineering: Large Systems Design."
